WOMEN CAN AND DO SUCCESSFULLY DEFEND THEMSELVES
In these increasingly violent time, it is a fact that assaults and serious attacks on women are on the increase. This course is designed to show you how to avoid an attack, or in the situation where you are attacked, how to fight back. This course covers dealing with a nuisance, to protecting yourself from, and coping with an attacker. You are entitled to feel safe and this course will give you the tools to ensure that you do.
No specialist clothing is required: tracksuit bottoms, leggings or shorts and a T-shirt should be worn. Jewellery should be removed or covered during lessons, to avoid the possibility of injury. The Dojo has mats provided and so no footwear will be needed. You are not required to be particularly fit, however if you are significantly overweight, elderly, have not exercised for a long period of time, or suffer from diabetes, heart, respiratory or back problems, it is advisable that you work within your own limits; i.e. don’t overdo it.
We have discovered that an effective Women’s Self Defence Course must contain the following benefits:
1/ It has to address the inevitable ‘adrenaline dump’ which is the natural effect of fear induced aggression.
2/ It has to be simple enough to teach students in days or weeks instead of years.
3/ It has to be effective regardless of the size of the attacker.
4/ It has to address real street situations and sexual assaults instead of make believe situations.
5/ It has to be quick, effective and decisive.
6/ It has to teach verbal and physical boundary setting skills as research shows many physical confrontations can be avoided by doing this.
7/ It has to contain the minimum of techniques. This is necessary. As research has shown that as few as a handful techniques can be recalled when fully ‘adrenalized’.
8/ It has to be easy to learn.
OUR COURSE WILL SHOW YOU:
1/ How to effectively deal with the most common attacks against women.
2/ The art of using good verbal and spatial skills to prevent many assaults from becoming physical in the first place.
3/ How to defend against someone attacking you in bed.
4/ How to execute the ‘stop hit’; this technique can stop even the largest attacker in his tracks.
5/ Quick and effective defences and escapes from non-life threatening ‘annoyance’ attacks.
6/ How to protect yourself from the most common of all mugging attacks.
7/ Defences from chokes and strangles.
8/ Strategic targeting secrets; learning to strike the proper targets in just the right way.
9/ Effective defences against attempted rape. |
